1. CORE PRODUCT 
  •  service or benefit the customer is really buying 
  • Fulfill basic benefit customer wants 
  • E. g.. A hotel guests buying a room for 'rest & sleep '
2. GENERIC / BASIC PRODUCT 
  • Provides actual product with tangible benefits 
  • E.g..  A hotel room with a bed, bathroom, desk, etc. 
3. EXPECTED PRODUCT 
  • offers generic product plus other attributes customers want 
  • Customer expect these attributes while buying a product 
  • E.g... Clean table, fresh towels, working lamp, etc

4. AUGMENTED PRODUCT 

  • Gives more than physical product & sets it apart from competitors 
  • Beyond customer expectations 
  • Have additional attributes & benefits which differentiate from competitors 
  • E.g.. 24*7 room service, rapid check in, fresh flowers, I etc 

5. POTENTIAL PRODUCT 

  • New ways to gratify the customer & offer unique products
  • Provide additional tangible & intangible benefits 
  • E.g.. Hotel Room with AC or Normal room, both are used for rest and sleep but additional benefit is AC, heater, in deluxe room than that of normal room.
